A Guide to Preparing for your Resureel

How to prepare for your Resureel

Now that you have scheduled your Resureel filming and are thinking about what to do and wondering what to expect, there are a few things to keep in mind. Try to recreate your most recent interview, how was your confidence level? How well did you convey your talents? Did you smile? Did you leave a great impression?

Think about an interview this way: would you hire you? Would you recommend you to anyone else? Personality is almost as important as experience and you must remember this when sitting in front of a prospective employer. Your Resureel will portray a glimpse of who you are, in a true live interview.

What do you want to convey?

In most any interview, the common denominator is that you will never know exactly what to expect. While you can expect to field questions about anything on your resume and how you may fit into the role of responsibilities for the position you are interviewing for, how can you anticipate what questions will be thrown your way exactly, or how can you anticipate who will be interviewing you?

Your Resureel filming will not be a high pressure experience.  In fact, you can expect the time you spend in our studio to be professional and constructive.  We are focused on bringing the skills and talents to life that may be hidden on your resume.

A few things stand out as obvious to achieve the best results: are you calm? are you confident? are you happy? are you knowledgeable? Fortunately, your Resureel will allow you to amplify all of these points. Ultimately you want to show anyone watching your Resureel that you are a powerful addition to any team and you have the strengths they are looking for.

A few days before filming:

Practice makes perfect. A day or two before you are filmed, sit in front of a mirror and interview yourself.  As silly as this sounds, it will help you gain confidence and will help you feel comfortable.

Explain to yourself your best quality and perhaps explain your most recent work experience. During your practice, think of key points you want to make. Did you hit a specific goal? How creative did you get? Did you think outside of the box?

List three or four things that you have accomplished that you are proud of and explain them concisely. After your time with yourself, ask a friend or relative to role-play with you and have them critique you.

Ample practice with role-playing is a key element of preparation, it will help you bounce from topic to topic and prepare you to think quickly.

Sharpen your Resume and make positive it is current, including dates and positions. Your resume is the key to this filming. Resureel film technicians will use your resume as a platform to ask questions and interview from. You want this to reflect current events in your life.

Eat well and sleep well. Sufficient diet and sleep will help you feel well, and when you feel well, you speak well.

The best remedy for attempting to be yourself is simply to be yourself!

The day of your Resureel filming:

  • Get a good night’s rest and eat breakfast. Again, if you eat well and sleep well, you should feel well and speak well.
  • Dress Professionally - This is critical!  This is often overlooked as one of the most important qualities that you have full control of. Your professionalism is very important to any employer and can never be overdone. Dress conservatively and professionally. Your Resureel is a head and upper body shot, not just a headshot, so keep that in mind.
  • Think about how powerful you want your results to be. Think of what you ultimately want to see from your Resureel and feel great about your decision to invest in yourself.
  • Be on time for your filming. This is important, if you are running late and are in a hurried mode, you will not be comfortable and this will likely be evident on your Resureel.

Being prepared for your filming will assist you in achieving your maximum potential. You have made a great choice to get a major step ahead of your competition.  Your preparation will help you make your self-representation via your Resureel the most powerful tool available in your search for a career.
